How Cheqi Came About
The idea behind the Cheqi money card came about years ago, when our co-founder Jurre Stabel found himself in a bind. He wanted to surprise someone with a gift, but had no cash at home and no good alternative. “Surely this could be easier?”, Jurre thought.
When he shared the idea with us, we were sold straight away. A digital gift card that lets you give money safely and simply sounded like something everyone could use. After years of refining, testing and building, we made Cheqi real. And credit where it is due: we are incredibly proud that our idea now genuinely exists out in the world.
Our Mission: Making Gifting Easier And More Fun
At Cheqi we want to make giving gifts easier and more fun, for the sender and the receiver alike. Our aim is to become a nationwide platform for money gifts and digital gift cards, with a wide range of surprising options.
The Cheqi money card is always the foundation, but our range goes further. Think of a day out, a festival ticket, an e-book or other original options. We think it matters to do this together, which is why we work closely with local businesses who share our vision. That way, Cheqi can offer more and more unique and surprising gifts.
